KNOTTING-ON The “load” (i.e. all the warp beams) being tied behind the loom, each of the yarns making up the warp is twisted (knotted) with a drawing-in yarn. It is then drawn through the reed, the heddles and finally, the batten reed. The warp is now set in place, and the loom preparation completed.
